Technical Just picked up an ELX Speedgear for next to nothing

Morning all just picked up a 2001 elx speedgear and i have a couple of questions regarding it, firstly it was bought with a gearbox problem ( it revs high and wont go over 45mph but i think the answer to this might be the fluid is extremely low)
it also bleeps at me when braking and the dashboard flickers between D and R.
Im planning on emptying the box , changing the filter and putting fresh cvt ng fluid in, and after searching on here i shall be sorting the earth on the rear light clusters, but im wondering if there is anything else to keep an eye on .
