I've stepped over to the dark side and bought an 1.0 uno ie. it was cheap and looked like it needed a good home. It has had the steering Column cowel ripped off and door top has been bent, some scrote tried stealing it but failed miserably. I'll upload pics as soon as it arrives.

Only downside is I'll need to let a panda go so if anyone wants to buy one of mine inbox me offers.

Nice, look forward to seeing the photos (y) you've got to keep the 4x4 though surely! Such a beautiful panda in one of the best colours!

I'm honestly not sure what's gonna happen with the 4x4 Jamie.

I've got 3 cars and starting my classic car restoration course in September so I'll be moving to the Leeds area. I need around £1500 to pay for my course and get me some equipment for it. I'll only have space for one car so some cars have to go.

This uno should be here tomorrow with any luck. So gonna see what it runs and drives like as I'm thinking of using it as my daily for a while.

I'm open to offers on the 4x4 though if anyone is interested, don't wanna get rid but if the price is right it may have to be sold.

Good news! The uno should be arriving today, gonna go take pictures when I finish work and going to have a look round it and see what it needs.

it's recently been on the road so I can't see it been in that bad condition. Should have it through an mot by the end of the week with any luck.

Gonna start a new thread for it anyway so keep your eyes on the uno section.

Alex

It is Fiat, my sisley's MOT was deffinately done with no car on the ramp.

If you got V5C or lates mot test cert, go and have a look on DVLA MOT history - it's all gonna be there if it failed and been bodged in the past.

Just finished work, had a look round it, it's immaculate! 47k from new and 1 owner from new, never even had a welder near it, needs a new exhaust rear section, seems to run quite well, needs an ignition switch too. Other than that there is no real issues, happy days :) ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431382140.042853.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431382172.352973.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431382193.393440.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431382210.115555.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431382228.588337.jpg

ohhhh K reg. i bet it uses the same ECU and ignition system Talon does.

if the engine ever starts ticking over high, it will be because the idle control valve is acting up.
on mine the motor was burned out due to a faulty switch sensing when it had ran out of travel.
they seem to be a common fail point so maybe worth getting a spare.. they are under £20 on Ebay

that is the one i bought, though it says its for a VW it will fit the uno throttle body as it is kinda all ripped from a polo.. bosch made.

you can also smash a hole in the side of the idle control valve, pry out the worm drive gear then "manually" adjust the tick over speed by turning the larger plastic gear. i only suggest you do that as a last resort though. its kinda brutal.. but somehow kinda satisfying.
it does work well.. its how talon is currently being driven while i wait for the one to come through the post. :D

Just started it up first turn of the key, gave it a quick oil and filter change, the engine runs really sweet. Ordered a new back section of exhaust at a bank breaking £6.93.

It needs a few spots of paint and a good machine polish. Gonna repair and paint the wheel trims. Get a new gear knob and linkage bushes. And a set of half decent tyres as these are starting to perish. Also the sunroof seal is knackered and the ignition switch is non exsistant. Very happy with my purchase. ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431422464.176881.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431422484.795204.jpg got day off tomorrow so I can get some more work done

More work done on the uno today, front brakes stripped and rebuilt with new disks and pads, shocks and springs painted up too.ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431546324.837995.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431546380.369610.jpgnew rear exhaust section fitted and new timing belt kit, fuel tank and rear axle and sills painted up with underseal. The steel wheels have been treated to a fresh coat of black paint.ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431546591.552807.jpg so yeah productive day... Rear brake overhaul is tomorrow's job

Been back at the garage today and rebuilt rear brakes, sorted sunroof out where it was leaking/poorly repaired before. It's been sanded back, dents knocked out and filled and primed ready for paint tomorrow, this is how it stands now ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431967615.602399.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431967636.462311.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431967661.562108.jpg even the wheel trims have had a fresh coat of paint ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1431967704.034239.jpg just need to sort the ignition switch and cowling now and it will be ready for the road I think

Well the uno is almost ready to hit the mean streets now, it's had it's respray, and all windows and rubbers put back in, ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1432131181.550573.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1432131193.068649.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1432131220.484973.jpg IDIOT ALERT... when I was pulling it out the garage thismorning to give it a machine polish the door flew open and smacked the wall and I put a great big dirty dent in the door, it wouldn't push out so I had to back hammer it out ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1432131358.630342.jpg luckily we had loads of spare paint and materials so while be been at work my dad had a good go at it....ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1432131408.815319.jpg so machine polish again tomorrow, some stonechip stuff on the sills and put trims on and gel the bumpers and plastics. More updates tomorrow ?

Nice car, even though it's not a Panda as such. Just had a peek at your thread in the Uno section though and I can see why you're posting it all here

Probably zzzz because the Uno people were waiting for an update - last was over a week ago in the Uno section - I had a watch on that thread but nothing's going in there.

Still if this is the Uno section, I've got a couple of threads to post ;)

Which do we want first - Uno Selecta or Uno 70SL? :p

Hardly an overwhelming response to the first posts though.
ummm, I'll go 70SL.

True, but the less that's posted in there, the less folk will bother. I don't go in often as there's very little mk1 Uno action, so I'm as guilty!

Good choice!

To be said a'la Nicholson at the Overlook Hotel - "Here's Donald".....
