General Just bought an '04 1.3 16V multijet diesel

I just 'upgraded' from an old V-reg punto to this '04 reg diesel. Seemed to run well on the 100mile trip home and is in very clean condition. Managed to wade through the massive owner handbook to find out the basics. A couple of questions:- Firstly it came with two blue keys, should there be any other? Secondly this car has done about 68000 miles so timing belts come to mind. Is it a very expensive job on this model? Unfortunately I am now at an age where I can no longer do much myself and no longer have a garage to work in anyway. Should be a cheap car to run what with the very low tax and good fuel economy. More importantly the wife and dog both like it

You only get two blue keys.

It doesn't have a timing belt it has a chain so not due for at least another 68,000 miles

Paper oil filter is about £8 can of oil £20 fuel filter is again paper so £10 tops air filter £7

Brake discs are £50 brake pads £18

Rear shocks are a around £25 each glow plugs about £40 for 4
The only expensive thing I've come across is the exhaust hard to get hold of and expensive when you do about £70 whole sale for the rear box or £250 from fiat for the whole system

It really is a very cheap car to run look after it and its good for 150,000 miles and will give you 60mpg

I'm starting to become a little more familiar with the basics of this vehicle now. Can anyone recommend a source of a workshop manual? There appear to be at least two sources of the manual either online download or on CD but the only one I have seen is rubbish (didn't even show front or rear brake detail) which I guess is what you get for under £5. Even Haynes seem to avoid diesel versions of the Mk2 and above. Are the bodywork and trim details basically the same as the petrol version I wonder?
Only problems found so far are some minor surface rust on parts of the underside and a lot of condensation inside the headlamps. Runs very well, stops very well and currently averaging over 60mpg with over 60% town use. Even my wife is happy with it

I never bought any sort of workshop manual front brakes are easy to change I have a video on YouTube covering that the rear shoes have never been done on mine and its nearly on 100k miles now so they don't need doing very often

Just found an excellent manual that is a little like Haynes but many more and much better illustrations with useful tool information. Whole section on 1.3 16V Multijet. Also excellent section on gearboxes and lots more. 148MB PDF but in Italian so will have to get help from my brother who is fluent in the lingo (foreign office put him through very intensive residential courses in Italian and Polish some 30 years ago). Drawings generally self explanatory.
