General Just bought a Multipla

Just bought a second hand 1.9 JTD ELX, €9500 2000 reg with 80k. A super car and we just love it, were going to wait until next year but after viewing this one, we bought it the same day. One small problem, small knocking or banging sound when going over small bumps in the road. If sounds like something loose but have not had time to see what, could it be something like rubber bushes on the anti roll bars or mountings on the suspension?

Could be the handle for the jack which is inside a panel in the boot. I wrapped an old duster round mine and stopped a banging noise. Also, check the spare wheel's wound up tight.

it's probably one of the drop links which connect the front anti-roll bar to the suspension strut. i've just replaced mine (they're only about £14 each). it only needs a small amount of wear in one of the ends to make a load of noise on bumps!
these things seem to need replacing on all cars after about 35,000 miles-i've had to do a 205, a bx and a 605.
they're easy to do.

Thanks, I will have a look at the weekend. Just to let you know, find I'm getting between 45 and 48 MPG Avg, ran 2 tests one over 200 miles and the second one was 550 miles.

Just to give you all an update to our bug, its been over 12 months since we bought it. We have had a few small problems, new Batt and new fuel pump and now it looks like it needs a new clutch but the car now has 108,000 miles on it.

All in all it has been a good buy, and we are now talking about getting another one maybe next year.
