Well I have not been paying attention to the Marea recently and since one of the locals darling little angel decided to draw on the bonnet with a stone. I have been feeling a little miffed about the car.

But having been using it for the last few days (it's been off the road since last year.) I have started to find my enthusiasm for it again.

Now the damage to the bonnet isn't really repairable since the bonnet already has a biggish crease near the top. But a new bonnet resprayed is going to stand out a bit on a 8 year old car.

So at first I thought I'd gone to far with this idea but the more I look at it the better it seems. Or is it just me?

Doubt it's going to happen but thought I'd share it anyway.

I have to agree with Bulldog , the minion looks like a toy in the pic.
Love the exhaust/light cluster on the Marea.

Back to red for me. Theres stuff to get now better than T-Cut to bring the rest of the car back to near enough original.

See the problem is that even if I bring the rest of the car up brand new. The newly painted panel will probably be a different shade anyway. Due to being a different batch.

As for looking like it has had a shunt. That's why I was thinking the top 3 panels instead of just changing one.

Maybe I should just cut a big hole in the bonnet that all the damage is in and put a sheet of perspex in it's place? :chin:

What about some graphics to break up the black a bit?????

Cracking Idea Anfielred, theres those graphics that blend in with the paintwork but show up at different angles - have the bonnet matt black and the graphics a shiny black so they catch the light

just a thought

Stew i wouldnt worry about the colour difference, if you drop it off with a good bodyshop they will make it look pukka!

:yeahthat: If you find a decent bodyshop they'll colour match it to your car. They dont just mix paint to the manufacturers specification, they dull it down, test it and keep doing that till the match is spot on. I must admit reds a hard colour to match but its definately possible. My bodyshop does it A1.
