i was gonna suggest the kia ceed or hyundai i30... theyve both got good warranties.... the 3door kia ceed is a reasonable good looker to (y)

both get backed up by there decent warranties, which although might not cover anything... are far better then fiats 3rd year

dont get a hyundai, sure they might have a 7 yr warranty but it doesnt cover the steering wheel falling to bits, the carpet getting holes in, the door handles wearing, the kick sills getting worn, the seat wearing, etc, see one after 24k and it looked a state tbh.

my neighbour, who is pretty old so drives 'interestingly', used to have a Freelander and after it blew up for the 4th time she changed to a Hyundai Accent, the last of the 'old gen' ones. It has been perfect, she wallops it over curbs the whole time, on farm tracks and rough roads (she trains race horses) so it spends alot of its time being abused. It has no rattles, no squeaks and costs her nothing to maintain. They have no cred whatsoever and they are tedious beyond belief but the cars themselves are very long lasting.

Thanks for everyones thoughts, its a minefield isnt it... Truth be told they will all be boring and 1 or 2 could disapoint... change is interesting though, but I have a few months of GPS ownership (and FF membership too thanx Mikeeee) :D
