Technical Jtd tuning

I have one on my Marea Weekend JTD 110bhp had it on for about six month now they work alright loads extra power and mpg. Ive just been to cornwall towing caravan and consumption worked out at 40mpg 940 mile there and back and I never had to change down the box even on the A30 where there is some pretty big climbs. You might get a bit more with remap but there again it will cost double and you can just unplug the chip if you want to change your car. The tuning chip I have looks something like the one on ebay but I cant say it will be as good or not

i wouldnt skimp on something like engine tuning though, but thats my opinion;):p

who knows what its doing to your car:eek:

some people seem to be having a problem with engine management light after having remap so it dosent seem to be perfect
Very valid point and I take it you've never experienced a problem with the engine light coming on with this mod?

I'd say it's worth a try although a generic remap probably offers more :chin:

no problems upto now about six month Ive had it and to be quite honest going off the 150bhp Stilo I have I dont think a remap would give me anymore than I have now. I just need to shorten my induction pipe somehow to quicken it up a bit

Do you get a new engine if it blows up because at the end of the day who knows whats going to happen because from what I gather its all new territory

no, not that, but the people doing it know what there doing, most if the engine lights are from induction too, not re-map, re-map on the odd few.

stilo is alot more tempramental than the marea, more complicated.

induction light is more or less solved anyway:cool:

no I have it on good authority the pipe needs to be bigger bore than the original but shorter for quicker acceleration
This rather foxes me a bit. How exactly is this going to improve acceleration (remember you're feeding a turbo)

I know some of the guys like their noisy inductions and suppose you might get a few more BHP with a less restrictive (effective?) filter.

....but I seriously cannot believe anyone is going to measure any difference with a stopwatch :chin:

I didnt say I was going to measure how quick it is but shortening the pipe will make it a bit nippier

Dont be so immature - it's going to be much more noticeable than that, at least 0.000000000000002 of a second!
I think Red was referring to removing a sweet paper from the door pocket without the metal foil insert :D

Personally, once I've cleared all rubbish from door pockets, emptied the boot, vacuumed the carpets and also cleaned the car to get rid of excess mud then I'm in pure kick-ass mode :devil:

Its quite noticeable on here if some of you dont know about or understand something you tend to try and take the pee. If I want to go tearing about I would use the Stilo but if I wanted to go really slow I would buy a 1.6 or unplug the chip but it would still be faster than a 115bhp

Thinking of getting the stilo remapped/chipped, just saw this

what do people think?

Be carefull with power boxes... If you would like buy power box then look for Novitec...

some people seem to be having a problem with engine management light after having remap so it dosent seem to be perfect

Chip tunner who make and sell map which produce engine error is bad tunner. My stilo is remapped to 163.1HP and 37,4Kgm and in 30k km Im not receive any engine error...

and a comeback if all goes wrong(y)

When you find that something go wrong is to late for removing power box...
