Technical JTD stuttering while accelerating

Can I just ask if your Stilo or any Stilo is actually meant to give a couple of hisses before it picks up?

I've never noticed it from either of my JTD MWs.

So I'm currently renewing the EGR gaskets and I've removed the throttle housing which has a gasket. I'm not sure if this needs replacing 2? For now I'll just had some gasket sealant check the photos ta

Always best practice to renew used gaskets, however it doesn't look as though it was leaking so you could probably reuse it.

Agree there shouldn't be any hissing. Hissing tends to be symptomatic of escaping air somewhere and it's designed to be a sealed system.

thanks guys, i found the problem! i renewed the crush gaskets and the stuttering has gone!! woo hoo!

i think the suspect gasket was this one, going by the staining.

i can still hear hissing (heard more clearly down lanes with hedges both sides) but the volume has dropped significantly. ive become rather attuned to the sound of the engine and i think going by where the leaking gasket was (off the egr) and that the stuttering happened on the sound of each short burst of hiss, that the hissing does indeed highlight when the egr valve opens and closes

so nice not to have acceleration problem anymore, thank you SO MUCH :worship:
