For those interested in gasoil and the Bravo HLX 155 JTD remapped, the fuel gauge needle has finally dropped to half and I've covered just 376 miles. Neither have I been particularly heavy footed although the temptation is there as the mid range acceleration is awesome without even trying and.......no clutch slip. This is the remap to go for. With the 170 remap the clutch was slippin' too much as i guess the torque was too much for it to handle so the full potential couldn't be easily exploited. With the 155 0-60 is over pretty quickly. Will have to report how Andy and Nige's AP22 meter records the engine's vital statistics, when they've got it mended that is and when I can get over to them again.

Its a bit much to expect a stock clutch designed for 105BHP to cope with a 70% increase :)

Any ideas of the torque increase? My guess is its a lot.

I think you're right it must be alot, but it doesn't stop one dreaming if only........some of the Golf 130TDi s are remapped to 190-200bhp and the Seat Ibiza TDi Sport 130 to 175-180bhp and they don't appear to suffer clutch slip. My local Skoda dealer offers to remap the Fabia vRS 130bhp up to 180bhp while still covering it under the manufacturer's warranty..........so I think most manufacturers produce modern diesels in a detuned state.

I'll have to get the Bravo onto a rolling road if Nige's machine isn't repaired soon. There's a fairly reasonably priced place near me - £45 providing all the information you need.
