What's the difference between the 85 bhp engine used in the Punto and the 115 bhp one used in the Stilo?

The engine management system and the injectors are going to be the largest differences.

That said, look at the price difference on a new Grand Punto or Evo between the 70/75 and 90/95 HP versions of the 1.3 MJT. Compare the different engine outputs in the same trim level and the same options. That 20 HP increase may well cost you GBP 1000 or more all else being equal. Given the hardware differences are minimal, the factories (all brands do the same) are making a handsome profit on the more powerful versions. To put another way in the same example, each of those extra horses cost you an additional 50 quid. Not cheap.

Hi, sorry for pulling up old post but i'm interested in this differences because i'm driving remaped punto jtd and 115hp are not fun any more so i would like to see it on 145 or more. Offcourse, using stilo OEM parts would be great benefit. I found out till now that punto 86 and stilo 115, eaven stilo 140Mjet are using same garrett GT1749V variable turbo and same fuel pump (identical OEM part numbers) but injectors and boost contorller are not the same. My goal is to find out if there is anything else to be exchanged and is punto ECU capable of controlling stilo injectors and boost controller. After that, remap should not be problem. Any informations, comments, experience is wellcome. Thanks
