Hi, My Bravo JTD SX 100 has done 69k and as far as I know it hasnt had a cambelt change but as I have not had it long I cannot be sure - there is a full service history with the car but no record of a timing belt change.

Can anyone tell me what a good price is for this to be done - will also have tensioners and water pump done.

I am in the Derby area.

Many Thanks,

Dave

im getting my cambelt done for 140, but thats just for the timing belt, not gonna bother changing other belts as my manual says to check them regularly and replace when needbe

You ARE getting the tensioners too though? they absolutely wont make it until the next belt change! and will cause the same heartbreaking damage

Dave, my 1.8 cost £230 to get a genuine fiat belt, and both tensioners supplied and fitted at an independent garage. That was 1 1.8 but i hope its a guide for you.

My Skoda gets its 60k service and cambelt change done next week. its not quite the same, but i'll let you know what my bill is nonetheless. I'm hoping it'll be no more than £300 because if it is its coming right out of my holiday spending money ( in 3 weeks i'm driving it to Germany and then back after a week, hence the full-blown service and belt change)

yeah thats for fitting a cambelt kit inc tensioner etc. cost £80 for the kit and £60 labour

Cheers for the responses - been quoted at £175 to fit the timing belt kit plus vat but will try a few more.

Kit cost around £100 plus vat for the JTD.

Thanks very much for the link - I have just bought it!

Will update with the best price I get to have it fitted.

I was £90 for a gate's kit tennsiner and belt. from ebay
£118 inc vat from fiat to be fitted,
with a three month warenty or 3000 miles

Been quoted just £75 inc VAT to fit the cambelt kit and water pump by the garage that did my clutch - seems a bargain.

I paid £180 from Fiat for belt and tensioner... only went Fiat cos the bloke said it'd carry the 7year warrenty.

Year later I rang up about my sisters and the price had gone down to £175 but apparently they only ever give a 1 year warrenty & the chap who told me it had 7years was sacked about 11months ago for telling customers Bull **** to get custom!!

Ended up pay £120 at a local garage... think it was a goodyear or gates timing belt kit.
