Yes overboosting should illuminate the enjoyment managment light. it only comes on in 4th on mine when i redline it but my jtd is decatted as well as remapped so less resistance will mean the turbo will spool up more. Funnily enough it hasn't come on for a week now and doesn't come on at all if you change to 5th before 4k rpm.

Oh, 4th gear at redline is about 102 in my jtd on the track.

I never allow the engine to redline, the latest I change gear is 4000rpm. The graph I posted earlier showed a max speed of 152kmh that was at full throttle and 4000rpm, then I changed gear.

So because I have a remap if I were to redline it in 4th would the EML illuminate?

shadeyman, i was able to leave for work early and take a detour to my local test track. from 20mph in 4th gear to 95mph took about 20-21 secs and it does 102 at 4k rpm and 110 at redline. No eml came on which suggests that since i blanked off egr a layer of carbon or soot has built up and it doesn't pick up the overboost now.

So would my 29 second bio burning Multiwagon be average or crap, 8 seconds is a lot?

By blanking off the EGR you prevent any crap from the exhaust getting into the inlet manifold, there should be no soot there to build up. So its not a layer of soot that is preventing the MAP sensor detecting overboost.

When I remapped our Multiwagon I was told it would take time for the car to adjust to the new MAP. The more I drove the car the better if felt, even now, months later I notice small improvements in performance. Could it be that your car is doing the same, getting used to the remap and adjusting itself accordingly. So now it ignores the slight overboost the remap causes?

it could well be ignoring the slight overboost now as it originally picked it up straight away then gradually got harder to flick the light on.

dont forget mine is a lightweight 3 door and there was a slight hill to assist me. I will try and do another more accurate check tonight. If you add a couple of secs for the weight of the car, couple of secs for the hill and a sec for the decats etc and a sec for my inaccuracy yours sounds bang on.

Any chance you could connect FES to the car and post a screen shot of your results as I did?

I guess our Multiwagon is about right then. (y)

Concidering she has a boot full of stuff all the time too, car seats, pram, 2 scooters, clothes, nappies, 2 tool boxes(1 has all my OBDII leads in it), plus various toys for the kids.

ha, i'm a qs but live in a nice warm office. Dont get to site that often nowadays. Need to meet up to get them wishbones to you at some stage so can always do a comparison then but yours doesn't sound too far out.

Dont forget different maps by different companies. I pushed my remap co into doing one they wouldnt normally do as when they first did it it wasnt as good as the chip box i had on it and i called them to take it off. They didnt like that and put another map in that they guaranteed would put a smile on my face. It still does as well.

Btw could someone with a Schumi GP go to a test track and do a 4th gear 20mph to 95mph test for comparison.

I have 3 MAPs for our Multiwagon.

Standard
Intermediate
Full

And I can swop them whenever I like using Galletto 1260 software and cable.

Agreed, it would be good if others were to post their 20 to 95 mph times for comparison, with a FES screen shot would be even better.

I was in second gear doing 20mph then accelerating through 2nd, 3rd and 4th until I hit 95mph.

I thought the numbers on the bottom of the graph I posted represented seconds but now I'm sure they dont because I just did the same 20mph to 95mph using the missus's wrist watch and it took about 18 seconds and I wasn't pushing the car as hard as before.
