ok here goes!
On my laptop im running windows vista and lately its had a spell of grinding to a halt and its JUCHECK.EXE causing it.
It tells me a new version of Java is available and wants to update. however i know its up to date and after 5 minutes of fannying around locking up, the pc decides its up to date and doesnt need to install it.
now when i looked at msconfig last night i have two java things showing in the start tab.
one is Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U17 and the other is Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U13
my thinking is when java updated it didnt get rid of an earlier version, which means that now the old java is looking to update via JUCHECK.EXE but the pc doesnt actually need to and is locking because of a conflict. am i right?
do i actually need both of these on my laptop? do i just need the Java(TM) Platform SE 6 U17 option?
