I have to disagree there. UK TV is generally WORSE than American TV now
Put it this way, when I've been in the States I watch far more TV than I do over here because there's more decent TV programmes on the schedules.Where do most of the best comedy and drama programmes come from these days? Not the UK sadly
And don't forget that WE gave the Yanks American Idol AND Big Brother! No wonder the rest of the World look at us as if we're idiots :bang: :bang: :bang:

just need to dig and be a little discerning, don't forget, 24 only hit large when bbc2 picked it up, up till then it wasn't even that big in the US
there is an audience here for quality, just takes a lot of dross wading to get to it

Actually I didn't say you're a racist, My cop out comment was aimed at the fact that you wrote something that you chose to end with a disclaimer that you aren't racist.
I think that you should have constructed a better argument. If something doesn't stand up comfortably by itself but looks like it could be misconstrued and needs a a disclaimer at the end of it, then you should seriously consider re-writing it.
but thats what half of this thread is about, anything you say could be seen as racist now, hence the disclaimer

Just seen on BBC News - Jade Goody admitted in an interview with the News of The World that she did indeed make racist comments on BB but that she isn't a racist -
When asked in the News Of The World if she was racist she said: "No, I'm not a racist, but I accept I made racist comments.

Bit like saying she killed someone deliberately but isn't a murderer Even the Archbishop commented on the whole issue - The Archbishop of York said the latest Big Brother show had revealed an "ugly underbelly in society only too ready to point the finger at the foreigner".
Goody also admitted that she bullied Shilpa, and has offered to donate her appearance fee to charity.
Sounds to me like she is eating a very large piece of humble pie, with a big dollop of desperation sauce in a bid to save her rapidly sinking 'career'.
