HI all,

I have made a dreadfull mistake, recently bought 1.4 Dynamic Bravo. Asked the dealer if they were under powered, he said that they were fine. Bought the car as it had B&M, cruise control and i travel 35 miles to work everyday. Dont get me wrong the car is brilliant in every way apart from going up hills, its terrible (n).
What I mean by terrible is cannot get more than 30 mph or 3000 revs going up hills in 2nd or 3rd gear, just does not have the guts.

Suppose what I am trying to say is dont buy the 90 bhp, if you can afford it go for a T-jet. Payed £8495 for 08 with 12000 on clock which I thought was reasonable. Now looking at a 130 grande punto sporting, so back to a rattley interior!!! but only £7495 with 16k on the clock. Gonna miss the comfort, and quietness :cry::cry:

Regards

Paul

I (and many others) have stated many times to get the T-jet, research is a basic criteria before buying a car and NEVER listen to a salesman!

My advice is return to garage and ask them to do a favourable deal for you as you feel as if you were mis-sold the car in relation to performance but willing to pay abit extra.

Hahahaha no f**king clue what you're talking about, I drive the 90, and its wayyy not underpowered. Maybe its just mine... who knows... maybe you got a bad egg?

It's just like the 1.4 Stilo, people who drive the Derv Stilos say its under powered, but I say its just right in the car. Can put your foot down if you need to, but also have economy. Not sure what its like in the Bravo, but assume its the same lump, and I don't think that the bravo is that much heavier than a Stilo is it?

How many speed gearbox is it in Bravo

I went for the 1.4 Bravo. It is less powered than any of the others, of course, but you get to drive within its limitations. The engine has plenty of torque in the lower gears. It cruises at 70mph effortlessly on the motorway and turns in just about 49mpg. I had a 1.2 stilo before and so I dont notice the low power that much!.
Remember - you have to really drive all small engined cars and that means using the gears, especially when you come to a hill.

What you actually want to say is never buy a car without trying it, or reading others' opinion on it. I know many people who are happy with their 90bhp Bravos. So the problem is not in the car, only in you. :) I spent months of researching and test driving before buying my car and I am pretty confident this is the good way to go. Cheers :p

You're from Corby. Rockingham hill the problem? Well at least the speed camera won't get you going up the hill:D

I've not driven a 90bhp petrol Bravo, but I imagine it must be similar to my wifes 90bhp C4. Though it doesn't set the world on fire, it gets along very nicely. I've driven that Peterborough to Leicester via Oundle/Corby/Market Harborough with 2 (not stick insect ) passengers, and it was fine.

What have you got in the boot? 10 bags of cement? I think you need to get to know the car, to get the best out of it before namecalling.

You sure that car is running correctly

Ive got a 1.4 90bhp coutesy car atm and its taken me up very steep hills on the way to Glenshee for skiing with no bother fully loaded

Yes its no flying machine but no 1.4 is

Sorry Honda but you are badly informed again, I have 61,000 on my re=mapped MJet 130 (194 Bhp now) and NO rattles, inside OR outside..... its as comfortable as I expected & I'm 6 foot 2 & 210lbs... maybe a Honda car would suit you more?

Im not name calling, did test drive car before I bought but Rockingham hill was closed at the time. Im just trying to see if anyone else has found the same problem?

It seems I`m getting into a slanging match with other Bravo user which I did not intend to do.

Dont rise to a slanging match Honda, the MJet GP is a fine car, as are the Bravo's, but with reference to others comments I drove both TJet & MJet GP back to back for several hours over the same test route I know before making my choice, its a shame the 1.4 doesnt suit you, but T made a very good suggestion in Post 4 about asking for a favourable review of your purchase.

tnx Foxy,

thats what I am going to do tomorrow, they have a 105 ECO Bravo for £10K, or a Grande Punto 1.9 16v sporting £8K

Had a Toyota MR2 before so maybe thats why I notice the difference.

I'd say so (y) To a greater or lesser degree all the different Model owners are fircely protective of our Fiats, there are plenty people out there who think they are smart a$$es and want to poke fun...

Take a good test drive, whatever you fancy buying.. its VERY important to you.

sorry but the difference between the non turbo & turbo 1.4 is night & day, not saying the 1.4 is a bad car but I would only choose the turbo option.

:yeahthat: Turbo EVERY time...

An MR2 to a 1.4 Bravo was a mistake i think m8 i had a cougar so went for the turbo

But when not driving this current 1.4 courtesy car i have the 150 sport

Yes the 150 turbo is nice and fast but ive been pleasantly surprised by the 1.4

I find it underpowered but fast enough for commuting but most of all i find the 1.4 very smooth to drive both in suspension and acceleration over the 150 turbo

And my wife does not moan at me coming off of corners as much as she does in the 150 as im inclined to use all that 150bhp :D
