On Monday I had to go to where a Vauxhall Meriva had broken down on a busy single carriageway road leading to the M56 as it was in a vulnerable position. The RAC had been out to the car and the technician declared the fault lay with the clutch master cylinder, which was WHERE?
It's in the gearbox and therefore half the oily bits would have to come out in order for it to be fixed. In my little Panda MJ the cylinder is on the firewall which seems like much smarter place to put it, especially when it comes down to cost. It also seems like that location is pretty much guaranteed to put the job outside the range of your average DIY mechanic. Good job he had a dealer warranty.
