Well it's time for my first service for my jtd. Just phoned up the dealer and got a quote of £245 pounds

Can anyone recommend any decent garages around the North-West area. Preffabley around the Warrington area??

Ok let put this another way. Ive called up 5 fiat dealerships around my area and I got a quote for £220.

Would this seem around the average price to get my car serviced??

If you don't mind an independent (and why would you). I can recommend Heath Road Garages in Sandbach. They service my Abarth and have been very good. I think a few others have tried them as well.

Alfie used to work for Mangoletsi (big Fiat/Alfa dealer in Knutsford) so knows his stuff and has all the computer bits and bobs you need. He will service to Fiat spec and stamp yer book for you

I get mine done at forwards autos in st helens


They only charged me £178.22 for the 2 year service and I £90 for the first year service- but i cant remember if I got that cheaper instead of a free one when negotiating the deal so cant be quoted on 1st year service but 2nd year service is what they did straight up in september 05

Well funnily enough I got my car from forward auto's and they qutoted me £245 for my first service

Seemed like Caledonia was the cheapest but Acordis as you say I would prefer going to a specialist really if it works out best, but Sandbach is abit far for me.

But then again if it saves me say £50 then thats better in my pocket than the dealers I surpose.

Indeed I never realised the jtd was the most expensive car to service in the Stilo range!

Ah well it's what you get if you buy a new car. Can you suggest any other specialist garages closer to home??

The next time there is a thread about JTD vs Abarth... I want to quote the following:
1st year service for JTD = £245
1st year service for Abarth = £58

(apologies to all JTD owners, I am still just in the clouds because I was charged about half for my 1st year service of what I expected to pay, and it means I have more cash to spend over the holidays.)

£245 seems ridiculously high for 1st years service. What is changed -oil filter and oil, anything else? General kick the tyres and check fluids and pads Have i missed anything? Go elsewhere, would be my recommendation. Surely an independant would be far cheaper.

Diesels need a few extra things looked and cleaned.

Well just been to Nationwide Autocentre to get a battery replaced on my Misses Punto and asked how much it would cost they said around £70 quid which seems really cheap considering....

They also said they could get all the filters from my local fiat dealer and they have all the gear to get the service indicator reset.

I'm tempted to go for this as ive never had any problems with them before..

Well phoned up that Heath Road Garages and they gave me a quote of £85.00 which seems pretty good considering paying £220 pounds.

Thinking I may book this in for Next week unless I can find anywhere else closer to home..

i would ask whats included in each service to make sure ur still getting the same level of servicing for the garage as there is alot of difference between £80 and £220!
