Here's a pic of it on the truck going to its new home. Its going to have a wash today. Unfortunately someone smashed the driver door window in and bent the door the night before we picked it up, anyone know where to get a driver window from?

Thanks

Nath

Hi

Made some progress today, emptied the car out and we removed the engine (only on with two mounts!) so the car is a rolling shell now. Going to be rubbing down paintwork and knocking out dents next ready for respray!

Look like we are going to mask off all of the decals and spray around them as they are not faded, looking forward to doing that!

Found some rust on the inside near OS wheel arch and the seams on both arches have some small holes, also on the A-piller there are penny sized holes. Need to have a good look underneath tomorrow.

Heres a couple of pics, one of the car in the workshop next to my cinq (more work in progress) and one of the rust near arch.

Will keep looking for a window but i'm guessing there's no rush until after the paint.

Thanks

Nath

Just noticed this thread. Good luck with the project, nice to see another one being restored in North Devon. Although yours is quite alot rarer than mine. Looking forward to watching your progress. :)

Slow progress today. Got bonnet, doors and pretty much everything off ready to start rubbing it down. Annoyingly on of the students accidentally broke the windscreen trying to take it out!!! Another window to replace!

All fun though!

Ok that makes sense now, mine is a FIRE!

Got one from my local motor factors now for £33+VAT.

Thanks

Hi

A small update and some parts help if possible folks. The engine has been stripped bare and is being rebuilt. I am struggling to find piston rings and shell bearings for this 750CC FIRE engine. No where stocks them locally and the only place I have found is Ricambi but they are 110 for the psiton rings and 55 for the shell bearings from Italy!

Anyone have any ideas?

We should be getting bought a MIG welder from the Crash Box Classic Car Club soon so the little Panda will be getting on for a new coat of paint.

Loads to do but with a Panda, Uno and a Cinquecento all being worked on its all on italian cars!

Thanks

Hi Nathan

Slightly cheaper on the piston rings, depending on postage (at least they are light!).

Agree with Kev though, you could get a secondhand engine more cheaply, but that may defeat the learning outcomes!
