Hi guys.

I am looking at purchasing a mk2 Punto sporting as a second car. Prob 2000 model.

Is there anything major to look out for on a 6 year old car. The ones I am going to look at have around 45k miles so quite low for year.

Any rust issues, clutch problems or do I just look out for usual stuff as normal.

Will probably change brakes, suspension, oil change if not already done so as want to put Abarth kit on and smarten the external looks abit.

Thanks for any info...:)

Rust can sometimes form on the roof under the rubbers where you fit the roofrack and under the rubbers from the front window also check for rust under bonnet where the slot is for the bonnet catch this can seize sometimes... The front wipers have a judering issue in intermitent caused by wrong grease in the moter.. Check the clutch listen for any clicks noises when pressed to floor make sure it engages all gears without crunching... Knocking at rear while driving normally exhaust rubbin on axle or shock absorber has gone.. If you do buy the car as dave said should be changed every 50k or 5 years whatever comes first so i would change the cambelt also make sure you replace the tensioner with it...
