Just wondering your thoughts on this install for a Fiat Punto 1.4L 2003?

Front Door Speakers: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_186497_langId_-1_categoryId_165707

6x9's: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_724071_langId_-1_categoryId_165707

Sub: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_723259_langId_-1_categoryId_165748

Amp:

Stereo: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_548171_langId_-1_categoryId_165474

Total cost = £260

Reckon this is a decent install for the price and is it worth it? Also, another main factor is do you reckon it will fit in my car?

Many thanks for any replies!

that is all crap stuff mate - standard would probably sound better....

you get what you pay for in audio - so for a good setup its going to cost.

you should ideally spend 100 on a stereo
70-120 on front components
100-150 on front components amp
150-200 on a sub and roughly the same on an amp...

just to give you an idea, i've spent roughly 800 and it does sound really good, even though i can still get alot better...

i spent 150 on a stereo
120 on front compnents
70 on an amp for components
130 for a sub
200 on amp for sub
and then about another 150 on wiring, box and sound deading...

my advice to you - dont buy cheap **** as you'll regret it. buy things seperatly and do your install over time asell ;)

Right, well what would you recommend instead of 6x9's as seconday speakers if I'm putting a sub in?

Also, what is the right size for front door speakers then, and what would you recommend as a decent pair?

Im sure you were told that the front speakers are 6 1/2" but i could be wrong.
TBH on that sort of budget i would be looking at going second hand.
I can do you an SNG Jatt 12" sub for £60

They are immense subs for the money if you want bass. Build a 2.2cu ft enclosure give it 1000w RMS @ 2ohm and it will pi$$ all over that edge thing

I can probably sort an amp for you as well just PM me if you want me to sort anything.

You dont need rear speakers, if the fronts are done properly you will be able to hear them in the back. You only use rear speakers for rear fill if you have a large car. If any mid or treble comes from the back then it will mess up the sound staging.

I would allow a bit of cash for sound deadening.

As for components these tend to fit quite easily and are on sale until Jan 4th

They have a shallow mount but people have managed to fit up to 59mm mounting depth.

I will keep an eye out for amps but around 100w RMS x2 at 3ohm should be fine. If you wanted to be cocky then you could get a four channel and run the tweeters on 2 channels and the mids on 2. This would give you more control and allow you to put a bit more power through them.

yeah cheers guys for shedding some light on all this, stuff seems much cleared now and about the thanks button, I have used it appropriately now, I'm new to the forums and haven't even given it a thought yet. Not meaning to be ungrateful :)

Not perfect but this will sound a million times better.

= £328

Plus fixtures and fittings :)

To be honest if your budget is that low then I would consider leaving the sub out and spend the budget on everything else and then add a sub later.

£10 on the main part of the system isnt enough tbh

Getting my install done in the next few weeks just waiting for a few more bits and bobs cant wait.

thats quite a good budget setup - but the amp wont supply enough power for the sub at 200 wrms.

could possibly get a smaller sub thats 200 wrms at 4 ohms then that setup would work well (y)

Don't need a 15" sub in a punto

They are amazing subs for budget systems and at £35 in the sale your best off buying that.
