Tuning Is there any way to increase the power of a TD engine?

To be honest any performance gain would be welcome, at the right price and providing fuel consumption did not increase dramatically. At the moment the problem seems to be one of finding a 'competent mechanic' with rolling road to undertake the work. There's no shortage of companies offering remapping of common-rail engines but those capable of tuning mechanically-injected engines seem to be like hens teeth.

I would suggest a mod that I tried on my FORD which works, I increased the size of my exhaust system to 50mm throughout. Perhaps it would work for you? its all to do with gas flow, even simple things like changing the air filter regularly makes a difference. Also take it out for a long hard drive to blow the cobwebs out.
