Technical Is my 500C roof faulty?

Or is it just the cold weather?

Lately, the folding roof will always go back BUT sometimes won't close again...it starts to close then retracts to fully open again. Today (5 degrees C) we opened the roof as normal but at the end of our 12 mile journey it would only close to 'spoiler' position before opening fully again.
We finally got it closed by gently assisting it by hand.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the 500C (this is our first 500)

Our car is an immaculate, 27,000 mile, 3 year old 1.4 lounge.

I would say there is some dirt in the runners. The roof will retract if it encounters an obstruction, which is why you could 'assist' it overcoming the restriction.

That's what I was about to say, sounds like the safety feature is kicking in. Gave our roof a clean today.

Thanks for that ^^ folks, I've checked the runners and they are clean and lightly greased.
Went out to the car yesterday afternoon with the sun on it (so a bit warmer) and the roof worked perfectly, time after time.
Could it just be the intense cold we're experiencing at this time?

I'd imagine a bit of water freezing in the tracks would cause the symptoms you describe.
