oswestry is my home town although I haven't lived there for 10 years now.

from what i can tell the back of the car has been pushed in below the boot so i am assuming the boot floor has also been effected. can't actually get the boot open at the moment so can't say for sure.

was insured with a value of 1k but if they write it off what are we actually going to see? the value they put on it and if so where do they go for their valuation, look at ebay and you can get one for £300, look at autotrader and it could be £800 +
Insurance company will give you a price somewhere between trade and retail, so about £600 or so. What you need to do is show them evidence of top prices to up the settlement figure. They will need 3 minimum quotes to repair it and i know that it will not be less then £1000 to repair, so is a write off. Quotes always include new parts and they will be several hundred pounds alone.

Andy.

thanks sump plug, as i thought at least a grand to repair and I think it would be hard pushed to put its value any more than that.

by the time you have bought a new bumber and any other body work pannels needed and its been painted you have to be looking at almost a grand before you have addded the labour on to actually do the repair.

how quickly should i be looking for it to be sorted out by the insurance company, are they going to drag their feet?

off topic, live in manchester now or as sump plug calls it sunny manchester.
