Technical is it the head gasket??

Got a recommendation from my local garage (Who I do trust) for a Chap who will fix the H G

He is picking the car up wed am and will bring it back in a couple of days

Estimated cost 300 quid Inc the belt and water pump

Now I don’t think that is too bad at all

Not bad. But make sure the valves are cut in, the valve stem oil seals replaced and the valve clearances re-set.

Did you actually establish that the HG was the issue?

He will do a comp test first but the problem happened when he came to get the car this am
he said it was an almost 100% certainty that it was the HG as he had seen the same before

So At least I will know by the end of thurs and have the car back prob by mon morning
