Your first 'Thanks', kev uno (y)

It looks like the Mk2 Uno is very different to the Mk1. You actually have some part that moves when you turn the key, and you've connected a lock motor to that. Clever!

Given that the original poster has a Mk2, I guess I was wrong to say it couldn't be done (it can't be done with the Mk1). Sorry

i have seen this sliding part before, but when i tried to move it with my finger it didnt move, so i guessed that it cant be done that way... lol
have you changed something else inside the lock to make it easier to move? (and if not, why the key dont work anymore?)

thanks!:worship::rolleyes:

i will try to explain wot i did to the lock the best i can.
i took the top off the lock by way of undoing the two clips.
removed the spring and the little plastic disc the spring sits on.
then the lock comes out.

then there is a small clip (like the ones that hold the window winder on) i removed this then the lock barrel drops out(the bit the key goes in) and on the bottom of the lock barrel there is a small prong (this is why the sliding part wont move with your fingers as this is wot moves the sliding part and for this to move you need to put the key in)so there was two things to do about this A take the lock out altogether which would leave a big hole in the button which you press to open the boot or B cut the small prong off.

so i decided to cut the small prong off so now the key still goes in and turns to lock and unlock but doesnt but now i have the cl motor to do this now:):):)

hope this helps need anymore info just asked

hello
I have fiat uno 1.0 1993 mk2, with no central locking (basic model) and the only way to open the boot is from the lock out side of the car.

my qestion is: is it possible to install a generic central locking system and make it work on the boot also? how?
scaled.php

thanks

and my question is DID YOU GET IT DONE YET PLS TELL:)(y):)(y)

i'm trying to get the parts (also power windows) from ebay, so it will take some time
(i have to, here central locking+power windows costs ~125 euro , in ebay germany its ~60 euro...)
