iPhone Adapter - Charging Query!!

Does anyone find that your adapter doesnt really charge your iPhone and really only tops it up if charge is very high?

I'm finding that using an app whilst driving with B&M in operation drains the battery far more than it gets charged by B&M and a long journey with music playing can flatten the battery as much as playing the music through the speakers?

Anyone any opinion on this?

Happens with ASmartHUD Cam and Co-Pilot Live.

have you thought of getting a cigarette lighter charger and comparing its charging output?
maybe low volts on the usb port?

Have thought about it yes....as I sit staring at my multimeter. Have I done it? no LOL!

Saw a bodge cable somwhere on ebay once that took cig feed for the +ve and -ve and the car USB for d+ d-

Would love to know if anyone finds the same issue, not that Chris is a wind up merchant but that apps that drain the battery quickly still manage to do it plugged in to B&M.

Cant get my iPOD Touch to charge at all let alone play any music (mp3) off it! Also tried to plug in a blackberry 8900 and same result. I'm plugging in directly with no adaptor becuase I thought an adaptor was only required if you wanted to convert formats??? Is that wrong?

If the blueberry can charge over USB without drivers ETC you've a chance it may start to charge.

With the iPod however once you (or FIAT) update your convergence unit to B&M 5.4.?? then you MUST have the iPod adapter for any flavour of iPod/iPhone!

not had any problems with mine, my iphones been almost dead, plugged it in with music on for a long journey and it charges fully!

same if im using the toptom app.
