Hi,

I am having a nightmare with my iphone 3gs and the blue & me adapter.
I recently upgraded my iphone to ios4. When i try and connect my iphone with the blue & me adapter it only plays 2 secs of a song, then switches back to the radio. Also if i try and access media through the buttons on the streeing wheel, it says 'no media found'. I have already updated the blue & me adapter to 5.4 and have also tried resetting my iphone (holding in the home and power buttons) but nothing seems to work.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any ideas how i can fix this?

Thanks :)

I started having exactly the same problem this morning on my way to work. I thought it worked fine immediately after the upgrade to Ios4 (that i did last week) but I still think this is the most likely culprit

I am going to try uninstalling IOS4 as it doesn't offer me any real benefits. I'll let you know how I get on.

from my testing on my Abarth Punto, I also had this issue on some of the iOS betas (iPhone 3GS), and can replicate the issue when:

you sync video from itunes onto the iPhone, the problem still exists once you remove the videos.

the fix I have found is:

do a full itunes restore, set up as a new phone and ONLY sync music....

hopefully FIAT will release a B&M fix when they can be arsed...

on another note, the same issues apply to the iPhone 4. (im guessing iPhone 3G too)..

Downgrading back to 3.1.x is messy (if you even have the correct files to restore) it will fail part way through when trying to flash the baseband of the phone... I wouldn't really recommend it..

Do the hard reset on the phone. Then plug it in and just turn the key once without turning on the engine.

I had problems with my iphone after the upgrade and reset the phone quite a few times but nothing. Then one day I just tried the above and it worked.

Solved all the problems by upgrading to B&M 5.5.

Looks like this fixes a lot of issues - i'd try this in the first instance as it is only a 10 minute job.

I used to have the same problem with my 3gs but it sorted itself out without me realising how i did it.

However, now I am experiencing a crackling/distorted noise when I play music, does anybody know the reason for this?

W0tti - I have no problems getting music to play via my 3GS on my Fiat 500 system. However, I am also experiencing crackling during play back. I tried an alternative iphone cable, but the problem has persisted.

I decided to try the upgrade to Blue and Me 5.5, but all I get is CONFIG ERROR. Perhaps this is because I already have this version installed, as the car was delivered in June 2010?

Some advice on how to get rid of the crackling would be most appreciated.

Just found this a few threads down:

The music from my iPhone is always cracking/skipping like an old vinyl record.

Solution: in iTunes' preferences, bring up the Playback section and disable 'Sound check' & 'Sound enhancer'. Sync your iPhone.
Cracks in music playback through the B&M system should now be gone.

Will try it tonight
