On a UK 2010 ‘500 the internal door lock lever on the drivers side (RHD)) hits the plastic door panel if I try to manually push the lever inwards to activate the central locking and then does not activate the central locking manually.

If you use the remote key the lever will move inwards and show the red locked indication and lock the doors as designed.

So I am thinking that either the internal handle cable is stretched by a few millimetres or the lock mech attached to the internal handle cable is worn or has slack in it ?

Is there any adjustment I can make to the cable end (pictured) at the internal handle end ?( Bend the metal ferrel or add Packers ?)

Anyone else suffered this issue on their ‘500 please?🤔

It’s my daughter’s car, whilst auto lock is already selected - obviously that only engages after you have driven off.
t's a scenario where if my daughter gets into the car and wants to lock the doors whilst she is still parked, she can only use the remote fob, not just press the internal door lock lever manually.

The door card has definitely been off before we owned it, you can tell the lever when pushed inwards is just not quite moving the cable enough to activate the central locking before it hits the door card.

Not sure whether to try and manipulate the cable end at the lever handle end or just leave it and reluctantly live with it…..

When I've taken the door card off I always detach the handle intact from the door card to prevent issues no harm looking, note the rod clips very often break so don't touch them but do inspect as they might have been bodged
Thanks very much, I will take a look this week and see if I can gain the missing millimetres of activation on the cable / internal door handle. 🤞🤞
