Technical Intermittent oil light, Seicento Sporting

Hi

I have a 2003 Seicento Sporting with an intermittent oil light.

Sometimes, when I start the car, the oil light will come on and stay on until the engine is switched off and left off for a while. Othertimes, the oil light does not come on for as long as the car is driven.

The oil light comes on about one in five times the engine is started.

Anyone have any ideas/experience?

You might be better in the section for the model.

But assuming its got plenty of oil and isn't making horrible banging noises, it's most likely the oil pressure switch faulty. Don't know about the Sei but it's just screwed into the engine block on 127's, Strada's etc.
