Are such things as the Handbarke , gear leaver , seats , etc replaceable from the standard plastic/basic rubbish you get in a Punto mk1.??(n)

I would like to rip it apart and do something with it before i hand it over to the wife !:)

any help appreciated guys !

Yes they are.

You could always put a console from a sporting/GT in....a lot of ppl do that.
Gearknob and handbrake are replacable as are the gaiters. Sterring wheel can be done...seats....mats...whatever you want really.
You could also go up the local breakers yard and have a look for the interior from a higher model i.e. sporting...you might find sumthing you prefer...or just go aftermarket.

Do this!!!

Easy & cheap if you are good at spraying, also would be helpful if you had a garage to do it in. I would recommended takin every single interior bit off first then removing the dash, then you get a much better result and should only take 2 - 3 days max. Getting a pro to do it is gonna cost ya, in labour time/money. Sorry don't have a clue how much that would cost. Primer undercoat and blue/green spray cost me about £100 - but thats with lots of coats and spraying the whole lot.
Just spraying some of the smaller interior bits look good and wont cost so much like _Mr_noir's_ above. (y)

Sorry to sound newbie, but how do you change the steering wheel in a punto mk1?

depends on the model, some have airbags which are held in from behind with allen keys (i think) and ones with just horns the middles pull off/out sometimes needing help from a screw driver, and then undo 1 bolt in the middle and off it comes... easy!

if its airbag disconnect battery for 30 mins or so before you remove it.

Does any one know how to get the centre console out iv taken the skrews out and got the top to pull out but it feels like it is still connected at the bottom? Cheeres:confused:

Pull off the middle heater control knob...comes of quite easily...there is a screw beneath that. There are 2 just above the radio and four for the heater vents...2 at the top and 2 beneath the heater control bit. So the heater controls ahve to come of first.
