Technical Interior/Rollcage

Evening all..

Started on my interior yesterday, rear seats are out, and will soon be working on my fake floor. I'm after getting a rollcage fitted in the rear to fill it up a bit (as my car looks like a little van at the mo), not an FIA approved one, just somat for looks mainly and then dipped in chrome. Just wondered if anyone has had one done before, i'm after measurements/pics etc. Dads friends is making one up, but just seeking advice first..

Also after some Cinq rear door cards if anyone has any

If you're definitely not going for an FIA approved cage then make sure it's a proper bolt in job - the last thing you need is a load of heavy metal flying around in an accident.

I've got a full Sparco cage in mine which was only about £160-200 from Demon Tweeks. A few cans of Hammerite later and a friendly welder and it's in.

If it's going to be a half-cage then make sure the rear legs are bolted to the rear arches, otherwise you won't get the full benefit if the car does roll.

Personally, if you're going to sacrifice the space by having a cage then I'd get a proper one and not a posers one, but each to their own.

a little place 5 minutes down the road from me does custom cages, someone i know has just got one fitted in his corsa and the quality is fantastic. So im going to be taking a trip donw there sometime

Also make sure your insurance are friendly mine when another 150quid when I put mine in! (imagine you've checked this though)

Also Chubbston has a chrome one in his but only a rear half one.....

..the person who will be doing it fabricates steel, he also races cars and has done a them for his motors. It's going to be fully bolted in, screwed down, and if this is the case, should be ok in a crash, the reason I don't want a cage in the front, is crashing on the way to work, and t**ting my head on the front cage/bar without a helmet on may mean RIP Ian..

All my mods are declared on my insurance, as will be the cage..
