Any Ideas on this one, since I have owned my Bravo, the interior lights have never switched on when the doors open.

some quite info:

Yes, they work when I switch them on.
Yes, I have tried every setting :)
No, it doesnt work on either door
No, the little buttons in the door sil arent broken or stuck pushed in

Anybody? Thanks in advance.

Ok, should maybe have added, I only know about Computers and how to fix those...

Where would I want to test for voltage/impedance? Is a multimeter one of those boxes with dials and needles? I managed to steal one from a BT engineer last month :D hooray!

Could I just use one of those screwdrivers with a bulb in it? I understand those better that dials and whatnot..

the door switches (little buttons) can often appear to move fine but they dont close the circuit because they are prone to corrosion due to dirty water getting in them. you should remove a switch and try to simulate a closed circuit by touching something across both wires such as a nail or piece of wire. if the interior light works like this then the switch is at fault and you should clean it up. if not its something else, most probably the relay i'd guess.

Sounds reasonable Jug, thanks :worship: . Would it be pure coincidence, given that this is the answer, that it would happen on both sides? I mean, is this a common occurance, common enough to have happened to both the doors on one car?

i would say its very rare to happen on both sides, but you tend to find that it happens more on cars that are parked outside all year round, especialy cars that face down a slope. the water can get down to the switch easily that way. cars that are garaged rarely suffer from it.

I've had a recent problem with the switch next to the interior light. When in the middle position, the lights don't come on when I open the doors, I have to jiggle it to make it work. Am planning on taking a look when I do all the other little annoying bits that need doing, if we ever get any good weather
