Technical interior fan not working

hi there,
when i turn my interior fan on in my punto cabrio the fans don't start but the interior light dims so i can see there is power going to it nothing wrong with fuses any ideas / ways to fix anyone

There's only one fan.

I'd suggest you get to the fan, test the motor with 12v, see if it turns.

Take it from there and get back.

motor is working off of battery alone

Then, most likely either resistor pack or switch.

BUT sometimes they seem to suffer from a poor earth or connection at the main connector.
