Hey I’m running into this and my cooling fan isn’t working the water reaches 90C and its not working the water is boiling still nothing head gasked changed and everything when I turn on the fan manually by connecting it to battery the water is just fine and engine cools down anyone ran into this issue 1.6 elx fiat punto cabrio thanks fot ur help

Hey, my cooling fan doesn't work even the water starts boiling, the fan itself is working when directly put on 12V even on the fan harness the multimeter reads 12V on the Fan posi but at the fan neg It can't read anything so I dont have ground do you think the relay (I also don't know where the relay is located) opens the ground for the fan to activate ? Fuse isn't blown and also It has 12V where the main harenss connects to fan harness all the cables are good since I tested them with the multimeter also the resistance is good (on the fan harness) but the fan doesnt start, I have a radiator fan switch on the bottom of the Radiator, I have one on the engine head (I believe thats the coolant temp sensor because when I disconnect it the gauge doesnt show anything) and one on the thermostat that I dont know for what reason its there) also only found one bleed point on the hose that goes from the thermostat to the inside of the vehicle) the head gasket has been changed (Compression is good, when I start the fan manually the temp is stable and its not boiling) and all of the gaskets since the engine was rebuilt, whole radiator is hot aswell as all of the hoses so I don't know where the issue could be. Thanks for all of your help.

Do you have heat at the heater in the car? If the water is boiling, it may not be circulating. If not, then bleed the hoses before they disappear through the bulkhead.

Hey thanks for your reply, the heater is working fine its blowing some really hot air

Well, you say it’s boiling which suggests that the radiator should be hot enough to have changed the state of your switch. Did this happen or is your switch buggered?
It is just a two pin switch isn’t it? If so then you will get continuity across the pins at the temperature the switch is rated at.

Yeah the rad is really hot but the switch is 3 pin

Hi, maybe anyone knows what is this relax for ? I had it blown so its not working but I dont know if I need to change it thanks its in the right to the engine next to the 30A fuse with fan on it (its okay) in the black box there are couple of relays but every one works neither this one does

Also I’m missing this relay on the back side of the fusebox (interior one on the drivers side)

I believe that relay works the interior fan , windscreen washers/wipers, I had to replace on on my gt 👍🏻

I have the grey one I have the one on the right but I dont have the yellow one there the wipers and the interior fan is working
