Technical interference engine

was hopping around autodata and it shows grande punto 1.2 8v as interference engine on the other hand mk2 1.2 8v engine is non interference

so i started to wonder, same valves engine but interference, why fiat?

8V - VVT..??

most modern stuff runs tighter tolerances for better burn / emissions,
tight = collision damage ( diesel)

Bump, the VVT catches the valves.

Pull the head and you'll see why. The very late (Euro4?) engines have different piston and combustion chamber shapes.

I'd guess that that -- and maybe the faux VVT -- creates the issue.

Mind you, I'd never rely on Autodata!
