Technical Interesting clutch issue.

Hi guys, have a bizarre issue that started last week.
Getting a garage to sort it because I don't have the time, but I am still wondering what it is.
When I park on a hill nose up for any length of time it causes my clutch to slip, but when I've parked on the flat for a few days it seems better.
Is it just a case that something is leaking fluids onto my clutch due to the angle?

Maybe because it's harder to get going on the hill and you notice the slip that isn't happening yet on the flat.

Its slipping after parking facing uphill, still slips on the flat when driving. But once its been parked flat for a day or so it gets better.

I have a vague memory of some trouble with slave cylinders as you describe. Might be woth looking at it - see it's not sticking.

Input bearing and seal failure

as its leaned backwards the oil is seaping out down the input shaft onto the clutch

If you leave it on flat, its not leaking

Its a case of gearbox repair AND a new clutch

Thought it would be the bearing as its noisy when idle. The garage has a gearbox specialist on retainer so I can see clutch being cheap and the gearbox being expensive.

I paid £60 for an Luk clutch
Luk make good quality clutches

as for seal Nd bearing aint expensive
Its the labour to get box out stripped repaired and back in

Its only costing me 120 for the clutch and fitting because the garage is a family friend.
Think the gearbox will probably turn out more, we will see though.

Turned out at £260 altogether, feels like a new car now though.
The input shaft bearing was shot, full of pitting and the rubber had disappeared.
