Insurance

The options vary from site to site but wherever possible I put that its on the driveway, locked car park (my back garden) etc. It has no mods whatsoever and we are entering the value as what we paid for it which was £1150 which is actually a few hundred less than the current price guide value. Its only a 1.2 Active.

No convictions, never had insurance declined, no criminal record etc. I was searching online for clues on how they come to the prices they do and one site even said they will charge you more depending on if you are married or single, your level of education and your credit reference file.

He has a degree in Computer Programming and a good credit score. It all comes back to postcode.

The problem is that premiums are going to be higher this year, as there where a lot of claims over the winter due to people crashing in the snow.

I was paying £454.xx on a brand new T-Jet sporting, with my gf as a named driver. I have now changed to an abarth 9 groups higher and it will probably go up to above £1,000 although I am 25 the day before the policy renews. (driving 7 yrs this Decemeber(3rd) and currently 3 yrs no claims)

I also have a Network Computing Degree, but that makes no difference.

The cost is worked out on postcode, car value and driver experience + accidents.

As your son has not got a full license he will be supervised, when he passes he will not be supervised (learn how to drive "properly" and gather more real world experience) but due to the lack of supervision he will be at increased risk of having an accident which is why it will go up £300.

He is also male and in the age group where most accidents occur.

Hopefully you are aware of fronting, and as you said to add other family members they will just be named drivers rather than the main driver.

The Stilo is a low insurance group so that is good, find the value of your postcode by googling it, I think I am a C group.

Have you tried direct line, you will not find them on comparison sites so worth going direct, that is who I am with.

Ultimatley you will end up paying a lot of money until he has NCB and has experience, its just the way it is, younger people pay through nose for insurance, and I used to have a stilo 1.6 and paid £1,600 for a yr once, with no NCB

If he wants cheap insurance tell him to use his time and search, as its his money and he can save a lot with a very good look around.

Hope this helps,

Tom :)

Thats not strictly true. There were an average number of claim as per ususal. Winter is always subject to a higher number of claims.

As well as annual mileage, what the car is used for, drivers occupation and lots of other things.

Fee or her son won't be fronting as Fee is going as the named driver and not her son (y)

True although from personal experience I saw a larger amount of crashes due to adverse weather conditions/idiots that cannot drive.

Yeah I know they are included as well, the drivers occupation is normally a big factor in some of them.

Although ultimatley first few years insurance is stupid money, generally more than a car is worth, which is bad as some people often do not get the stuff which in turn bumps it up even more!

Hi Fiona im currently searching myself, And have found Admiral the cheapest myself £1100 on a new Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 Sporting most people quote at least £2k too.
Theres a very good, long read CLICK HERE for MoneySavingExpert and explains how to lower your risk, And as pointed out a Job tool which will tell you the best occupation to enter some changes can save a large amount of money for slightly different job titles.
Heres the postcode risk rating site CLICK HERE

Sorry guys I saw this was moved out of the Stilo forum but I only just noticed where it had gone.

MEP: I wont be the named driver, as I am the named driver on my Stilo, and I cant insure two cars with most companies.

I can do it with Admiral but it works out more expensive than the two of us insuring our cars independently and if I list myself as the main driver on both of them it comes back the same price as him being on one and me on the other as you can only use the NCB on one of the drivers.

I am in postcode 'E' on that ratings site.

Thanks everyone for all the input here.

Hello here I am looking for some innovative ideas about form filling .Form filling is a mandatory for all registration process whether it is a on line process or off line process. In the case insurance it is mandatory that all the information should be filled properly.
Now a days every site uses captcha to improve the quality of form filling. Form filling work can be done as a data entry work too. It can be done as part time work also.

I would suggest auto fills, popular names or surnames or something anything that makes the user enter less information, maybe even tick/check boxes or radio buttons instead of dropdown boxes for simple questions
