General Insurance

Well.this morning I tried Tesco and it was a waste of time .They wanted over £1000 for TPFT.

So we went for the cheapest quote of £708 TPFT with High Performance.Contrary to a previous poster,i just gave them their quote reference and the insurance was arranges in 5 minutes. They did charge an extra £60 for doing it on installments though !

Anyway,my daughter is now on the road for the first time and we don't have to be a taxi service anymore.

Guess what ! on the road for a couple of hours and she wants more power already. :)

im with norwich union they r chargin me 1400 on a cinq, and iv gota do pass plus soon... wen iv done pass plus they will knock 50% off therfore payin around 700 quid (y)

I was getting silly quotes, until i got a quote under my dads insurance, full no claims bonus. He didnt really want to use his no claims on me in case i lost it for him. So i got a quote with tesco and got protected no claims( roughly 50 quid extra), which i think means he shouldn't lose his bonus if i have an accident. (y)

I am after an insurance company, 17 on a 98 Cinq Sporting !

Cheapest ONLINE quotes are from the direction of ADMIRAL £2300 & Norwich Union at about £2400.....

Try Endsleigh (endsleigh.co.uk I think).

Joe, your dad can't use his NCB on his insurance aswell as yours...

Maybe his dad started a new insurance for himself. thats what my mum did for my brother. :)

*amazed face* says the one who mentioned something I had said from something that possibly could be meant either way?! :p

Be wary of going through a broker. They take their 'cut' so premiums will be higher. Find out which 'company' the quote is for then get in touch with that company direct.

That's true, but in some cases they negotiate special policies that aren't available to the average joe public. My 16v is insured for £378 through a broker, Graham Sykes in Dorset. They have a special policy for special vehicles and cover everything including the tb's and roll cage.

Brokers can also block-buy certain policies which means that they get a discount and even with their cut they can be cheaper.

Most of the insurance companies I work with insure big stuff like satellites and oil tankers, but it's basically the same - it's all property and casualty insurance.

Was that on your own mate ?? I tried Tesco TPFT on a FULL UK because I wanted an idea for when I pass my test, I darent try it on my provisional.. I think £4400 IS ENOUGH at the age of 17 as it is !!! :bang:  :p

i did my pass plus and got my 1.2 16v punto from £1500 to £850 with Norwich Union, which was my best quote.....but BEWARE

Norwich union only rocognise Pass Plus for the 1st year only.

So when i came to renew i had to pay about the same (£798)
this is cus they view PP as 1 years claims, then remove it when you have one years claims. still couldn't find a cheaper quote though, even with 1 years claims

90bhp 1.2!! 125mph in 5th....... bye bye corsa SRI, your next VTR

I've just renewed my ins and got a great quote via HIC with a company called Chorsa Insurance for £297.51 and I'm getting an agreed valuation done so I don't lose the lot if it gets stolen or written off - bargain or what.

Tescos was way more expensive, Adrian Flux weren't too bad, my current insurers Diamond (who only do females) was £271.50 but I thought for the extra I can get it valued properly and a proper pay out then that's the way to go.
