I Rolled my car just before christmas it was a right off. Insurance company have only just got back to me with an offer which is £1000 less than I payed for the car which I had only had for 8 months. Then they took another £250 access fee off of that. They said I can send in any adverts for cars which are the same model with a higher price than mine and they will review what they have offered. If any one has any advice how I can get a little bit more money back please let me know.

It's a trick they all try to keep their payouts down. Scour the autotrader websites and submit about 5 adverts showing higher prices. Make sure you make any notes such as 'no FSH', higher mileage etc.

I was offered only £1800 for my Seat Ibiza which I had paid £3000 for 6 months earlier. I dismissed their offer as derogatry and armed with noted adverts received a payout of £2500. It's not what you expect, you would wish for the cost of your car to be covered.. but it's the system we have and you have to do what you can to get the best out of it.
