Im due for renewal in a few weeks and got my letter through the post, putting my insurance up by a hundred quid.
im 20 with just coming up to one year no claims btw.
As this is a multicar policy it gets a bit confusing. I am the main user of my GP and my dads a named driver. I looked on the back to see the breakdown of who can drive etc and see that I am there but my dads details are there! I have 20 years no claims and my dads sp30 from 4 years ago!
I ring them up as this isnt right and on talking to them they say that originally I should have paid them alot more than I did for original years insurance! however they agreed to match the first years quote again! :D
I know it should go down technically but im pleased.
However, shouldnt the computer system recognise that someone thats 20 years old cant have 20ish years no claims :confused:

actually pmsl. thats brilliant.

tbh in the event of a crash i wouldnt worry becuase they wont look at that becuase they should have asked for your proof of no claims at the start of the policy if not, it's their problem. how did you take out the policy on the net or over the phone? either way on the net it should have indentified the excessive ncb and on the phone they should have said if not it was a bimbo, again not your problem.

lucky you managed to pull that off, how much was your insurance then if you dont mind me asking.

was 1,200 in the end. Paid about the same last year. It would be less id imagine but had an accident last may before i got GP!
It was a phone call and web thing. As they were being idiots on the phone, swapping everything over so i did it online and got the quote and then payment was done on phone I think again.
I dont know how on earth they managed it TBH. Only thing is that she did swap details straight over so maybe as it was my dad as named driver on my old car all of his details were swapped.

You not ready my post above yours, or your own insurance cert

It's not their problem, its yours if there is a error and you don't notify them of it!

tbh i wouldn't kick up a fuss about it. at the end of the day whether you did it on the web of phone whatever processed it should have recognised you cant be 20 with 20yrs ncb and that's what i would plead.

if i was presented with that i wouldnt bother with it. if you got an insurance renewal from your insurers and they gave you an extra 5yrs ncb are you gona call them and tell them? you might say you would but i dont think so, you didnt put those extra ncb on, they did.

I like you by the sounds of it, I pride myself at paying to correct insurnce premium outright!

Defrauding the system is all well and good until you need to claim, then you'll be wishing you hadn't said that!

I want to be able to claim if my car is written off, or I'm seriously injured in an accident ;)

You'll learn one day (y)

I, unlike you, have been a claims adjuster for the third largest commercial insurer in the world for the past few years and can confirm, i wouldn't bat an eyelid imho.

that aside, i do agree everything should be paid properly, you have no doubt read my views on non-declaration of mods.

indemnity wouldn't be refused over somethin like a ncb error. more like fraudulent accidents or as above; non-declaration of mods/motoring offences/accidents.
