Should of kept your 1.4 sporting.

Makes me laugh how much people are willing to pay just to have a "quickish car". Are your mods even declared on that policy?

First year of driving 60 a month on a 1.4 fiesta, 3 days before renewal had a bump  then payed 206 a month on a 1.25 fiesta, then changed car to mjet gp went up to 226 a month, my renewal with 1 ncb is under half that. Im 22 with 2 years driving exp. Either grin and bare it or get rid....simples.

you and your farther have committed fraud by obtaining goods or services by deception, that's not just a traffic offence but a criminal one, you have admitted this on a public forum with your reg number on show. if you did crash insurance companies employ people to search forums like this to save them having to pay out.

you are only 18 if you were born on April 14, 1993.

Do what everyone else has to do at 18 get a low power car insure it in your own name and build up some ncd

I sympathize with the op, premiums without a ncb are unaffordable. A lot of the cost is to cover third party liabilities so the value of the car can make very little difference. The whole ncb system works on the assumption of guilty until proven innocence in that premiums are very high unless you prove you are not an idiot, shouldn't it be the other way around?

I note that the op pays monthly, insurance companies often charge 20%Apr, it might be cheaper to take out a loan or pay on a 0% credit card upfront.

Adding your parents as named drivers can help even though you can't use their ncb.

My final suggestion is to get quotes for a Toyota aygo/pug107/Citroen c1. They are great little cars that bring a massive simile to my face every time I drive one. Run one of those for two years then buy sometimg better when you have some ncb and are a little older.

oh no ive only been driving a couple of years, been in an accident, fronting on my dads insurance and now i cant get cheap quotes to insure my high(ish 6k?) value modified car boo hoo

was this aimed at me ??

lowered 35mm all round is declared and cat back stainless exhaust is declared
bar that there arent any other insurance declarable mods

Lee

No mate, was aimed at the OP as most people know that car aint standard.

I'm sorry but i have no sympathy, your basically fronting....i have paid 6000 in the past two years alone on insurance due to my age, car is in my own name (the legal way) as is the insurance policy, I'm 23 now have one years NCB and I'm getting quotes for 1500, may sound cheap, but i am still paying the bank for my first years insurance, but that was the only way for me to get a car, every car i attempted to insure at the time was around 3.7 - 4k to insure no matter what make/model/spec and regardless of fully comp/tpft

should of got a cinqucento.. it was my first car and i am the same age as you, my insurance was £1645. next year (given i am working and have 1 year NCB) my insurance will be around £750. (£730 for a old fiat panda 4x4.. that has a bigger engine and more power.. insurers logic)

my advice to any one is ffs get an insurance group 1 car. if your b1tching about insurance costs get a car that is THE cheapest to insure.

what? friends will laugh at you? there not much friends.
the few mates i have were happy i got a car for all the lifts i could then give them to places heh.

for the first few years.. its the best thing you could do. Time will reward you with the ability to have a nice car.

Been in an accident? Not much of a surprise there, the way you blast up and down the EP! ;)

What mods has your TJet got, seems to go much better than a stock motor?

accident has nothing to do with it , as it wasnt my fault an i didnt claim a penny his insurance wanted to get it over and done with and sent out the payment within a week.

I believe fronting is when its my insurance with my name as the policy holder?

i was a NAMED driver. What if i never had my own car? and i went on my dads as a named driver?... It's the exact same thing. That can't be illegal as my mother don't have her own car she's a named on my dads.

you lot take it to heart , if you have insurance so what how you do it, I pay about double than you lot on here so who cares lol!

PMSL.

This is hilarious. The amount of FAIL by the OP here as almost crashed my computer.

In fact, I think FAIL needs to be redefined to:

FAIL: The hilarious, incomprehensibly stupid, so far beyond retarded that Retard Retarded McRetard looks like Stephen Hawking, BUT unfortunately ubiquitous threads that you find on car forums where a spoilt/thick kid has bought a car he can't afford to run or insure so illegally insures it, modified it, crashes it and now thinks the world is against him at renewal time.

LOL.
