Hi all! As I like collecting extra parts for my 79 cs2, I got this guage panel in a parts lot, that I'm assuming is before my 79? The differences include water temp guage where the clock is on my cs2, oil pressure guage where my water temp guage is, differences in speedo, and tach, and where the reset goes for the trip meter...would just like to know what I have in my parts box, and thank you in advance for any reply!

I dont know how you age it other than comparing with other cars. I would say its US market only due to units ie F and 55 limit on speedo. Tacho shows higher rpm range, later cars like 2 lit with all the CARB stuff wont pull those rpm

Confusing! Deep set speedo and tach instruments and oil pressure gauge would point to an earlier version…but no steering column cut out would point to a later version, Hmm. Best guess would be 1978 bitza.

One key feature is that the trip meter knob isn't mounted in the panel...the best thing I like about it is having the oil pressure guage...it looks pretty original on the back side so it's a mystery, now I'm questioning if it could be newer, not older than my 79 ?

Wow, I can't believe I never noticed this, but my 79 spider is out of nearly 13 year storage, and between the 3 extra instrument panels I have, they all have an 80 mph limit, while my spider has a 140 mph limit, so I'm guessing there must have been several variations here in usa..

Just a thought, are there any date stickers, labels etc sonetimes moulded in to the components or little self adhesive paper labels

I did try that with a magnifying glass, and a flashlight but writing on the tags was faded away...i keep thinking the key may be the fact that the trip meter reset knob is not mounted in the instrument panel...

Looking more closely at the trip meter reset knob and cable, I noted its short, not even long enough to mount in the middle of the instrument panel like my cs2, so it must have mounted in a hole under the speedometer, or to the left, might be a clue to the model?
