Hi,
I've read through the various posts regarding the instrument cluster failing and I guess that I have the same issue with the car being 2008 and getting old.
I had a failure of the 20A ignition fuse following a wiring problem to the starter motor, I think it was shorting. New starter sorted this.
Car sat for a while so could have got damp? The instrument cluster had the gobbledygook as mentioned elsewhere and now it just glows with ignition on, no numerals/digits can be seen centrally. The outer ring lights up when driving lights put on.
Is this the LCD failure mentioned in the other posts? I checked the instrument fuse (5A) and it was fine.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

You need to remove the entire clock and read the factory number of the display.

If you have an automatic transmission, the display is very difficult to buy.
