Hey guys so I should be picking up my alloys in next few days, got my spare key on its way and my lester replica sideskirts might eventually make it to me next week! BUT my parents bought me this sony ericsson bluetooth carkit for my birthday and I want your opinions on where in the Stilo it should go.

It being fitted on Friday so hopefully I'll find out where to put it by the time the guy comes to install it. I plan on putting the screen on the dashboard near the drivers pillar. The button I don't know where to go.

I don't want it to go in the cup holder/ashtray place though as I use these a good bit. I was possibly thinking of pulling out the cigarette lighter and placing it over the gap.

Where would you put it? There isn't much choice on our beautiful Stilo in comparisson with some other cars.

Thanks guys:worship:

I like the idea of it being on the gearstick - you will not have to fumble around for it then! Also it may be good on the steering wheel.
By putting it on one of the controls of the car - ie steering wheel or gearstick it will become second nature to use and you won't be fumbling around trying to find it!
Where did the kit come from and how much was it BTW looks very nice! am tempted myself with that.

I've got a noise cancelling job in mine. It just clips on the sun-visor and I leave in full-auto mode (it always answers the phone)

I don't make that many calls but to do so you just click the dial button and then voice dial.

You can also buy the cheaper type that just plugs in the cigarette lighter but then that's in a silly position in the Stilo (unless your talking from the rear seats :D )

Would that not look pretty odd though? Kit isn't too expensive. Try expansys.co.uk. Its the sony ericsson hcb-700

that controller looks a bit big, im thinking on the centre console where it widens a bit after the cigarette lighter  , there its not on your (or others) face, and ver easily accessible.

that unit looks pretty good tho (y) beats the pants off the parrot CK-3000 we have in 'the shop' :p

The parrot would have been the other option. Since I've owned about 8 SE phones in the last 4 years I've decided I'd go with a SE carkit too.. not that it makes any difference. It also looks pretty cool too tho!

When you say after the centre console do you mean towards the stereo or the back seats?

With the screen, is is not better putting it somewhere a little less obvious incase of thieves? Unless you can unplug it and remove it when your not in the car? What about trying to mount the switch over the little pocket on the dash, behind and to the left of the steering wheel? Would cover up the hole and look quite neat I think,

Nope, standard stereo so no place there to put it. Ye I was looking at putting it just on top of that bit there rather than covering the hole. I don't think its big enough to cover it really. As or the screen its fairly small and wouldn't be confused with sat nav. You would have to rip up the hole dash to steal it... screen the follow cable to the button and then to the actual box. It would be mounted behind a RAC sticker anyway. Also can the built in mic be used?

I like NanoSi's photo - mainly because of the irrelevance :) since the Connect Nav+ illustrated already has a hands-free phone.

Only stilo interior pic I could find on goooooooooooogle im afraid, sorry it doesnt come up to your standards :D

Hi NanoSi - sorry about my reply, the words weren't well-chosen! ;)
'irrelevance' was a bad choice!

I enjoy my Connect Nav+. Finally, more than six months after purchase of my Stilo, I've signed up for a contract so that I can have a second SIM with auto-divert. It's NZ$10 extra per month for a second SIM (Carphone Duo) - I mention it here because it would probably be cheaper to get a car-kit! So even Connect Nav+ is not the perfect solution :)

Just had it fitted and iits a great piece of kit. I ended up putting it in the cup holder place as its a perfect fit and fairly big for anywhere else. Only problem was that he couldn't manage to get the stereo out fully so I have to mute it myself but he left the mute cable for me there so I can do that myself. I just ordered a dension ice link plus too and that'll mean taking out the stereo so I'll give it a go next week.

Where in the back of the stereo should I be connecting the yellow wire to mute it?
