So I've recently just bought the pioneer DEH-1500UBB and I've had nothing but trouble installing it. It won't turn on/off with the ignition; I was told to swap the red and yellow wires so that the red goes to yellow and the yellow goes to red, this still didn't fix the problem. The HU turns on as soon as I plug it in but when I go to plug in a USB device (ipod/samsung glaxay s3) an error comes up on the display saying "N/A USB".... ALSO the aerial port is in the most awkward position ever so that when I plug it in and try to fit the HU into the dash it hit against the side and just falls out again = no radio for me. :bang:

So basically what I'm asking is how do I get this thing to work on the ignition and be able to use the USB? I don't really care about the aerial that much as I don't listen to radio anyway. Thanks in advance.

You've got 2 separate issues....

The power issue can really only be down to the red and yellow wire. It may be that the switched live stays live for a period of time after the ignition is switched off? Could you test both wires with a tester of some sort? Without a tester all I can suggest is with the red and yellow wires in the correct place make some changes to the settings (bass/treble or similar) then switch off ignition and wait for the stereo to go off. Once it switched itself off if you put the ignition back on and the settings have reset back to zero or not how you set them then the wires are the wrong way around. If the setting are the same then they are correct.

The usb issue is because the unit you've chosen doesn't support what you're trying to connect to it. If you put a memory stick into it with mp3 files on the stick it should work.
