In my Punto 1.9 JTD 2004 inner axle driver shaft on left passenger side, six bolts were coming off at the same time when the shaft fell down.

Why is this cause?

Now I got to find a new shaft, include 6 bolts how much torque wrench for those six bolts? The manual book doesn't say the specification numbers.

I guess you are talking about the bolts that go into the aluminium gearbox which hold the flange used to create the pretension between the two parts of the crown wheel bearing which the drive shaft passes through?

If you have all of the parts still you dont need to worry about pretension if you torque to specification. Presumably the drive shaft did not fully fall out so you could lose the internal parts with the bolted cover falling as well? There are shims between the bearing and the cover so once the cover is torqued the bearing is sufficiently tight/loose..

The torque will be similar to the 1.2 punto. It is quite low. The bolts are small and the aluminium threads can be stripped. M8 20nm with loctite.

(Palio and punto have almost identical gearboxes)

Yes, six M8 bolts are aluminium, they do sell Carbon steel now. Is that why the Aluminium is weak?
I had a gearbox replace round 40,000 mile ago when the 3rd gear stop shift in.

The shaft connects one of the hole where the M8 bolt go in is snap, that is why to get a new part of the driver shaft.

Aluminium bolts? does not sound right to me. The casting is aluminium for the gearbox. The bolts for the gearbox are i think steel with a zinc coating which looks like aluminium. What actually has snapped that you need to replace?

It feels soft and light, it is aluminium it doesn't work with magnets, I will take photo tomorrow and post here you will be surprise!

Ignore the three bolts are new was sent to factory, remove the snap bolts.
