Hi All,
The injector dash warning light has started to stay on.
Its supposed to come on for a few seconds and then disappear when you start up but now its starting to stay on quite regularly.
When its on the car is noticeably sluggish. But turning the engine off and starting again usually cures it.
Anyone have any ideas whats causing it and how mcuh of a job it will be to sort out?
Cheers.

P.S. Its a 1997 HGT 147 thats been regularly serviced.

Age, model and engine of car?

If its staying on its normally a wiring or sensor problem.

I'd recomend going to a Fiat dealer or a garage with a Fiat diag tool and getting it tested as they should be able to tell exactly is causing the light to stay on.

Sometimes it comes on having driven for 10 seconds but mostly it just doesn't go out when starting.
If it was a sensor problem would it affect performance? It very noticeable that it doesn't want to accelerate when its on, up to about 3000rpm anyway, after that it get going.
Also, it never stays on if I bump start it, which I do sometimes if I only notice its on having pulled away and felt the lack of performance.

(correct me anyone if not entirely accurate)

It could be symptomatic of an actual fault, or indeed it could be the sensor itself that is faulty, and since it controls as well as sensors, it could affect your running. I think fiat charged me about 80 for the sensor on the brava after a diagnostic.
