injector light problem!!

My injector light keeps coming on every nown and again and i took it into a garage the other day to sort it out. They said they couldnt find any problems on the diagnostic so wiped all the codes. Driving to work this morning i pulled up in traffic and the revs dropped a little and then the injector light came on again! The thing is driving me mad. When they do the diagnostic will it only show up a problem if the light is on whilst there doing it?

That doesn't make sense. The EMS has a memory for faults, so a garage with the correct equipment shall be able to tell why the warning light illuminated.

This implies there were codes to wipe and if there were codes to wipe the codes they wiped would have indicated what was at fault as when something is at fault it saves a code which has now been wiped but if there were no codes how could they wipe the codes so if they wiped the codes why did they not read the codes as the now wiped codes would have indicated what had caused the codes which have now been wiped.



The codes actually clear themselves after 10 starts with no faults. The ECU is self diagnosing. Any garage that says they need to wipe the codes to turn the light off are just fobbing you off.

Either way, you've not given ANY details about the car.

Is it worth just getting a new injector or might that not be the problem??
