General injector light coming on

Just a quick query regarding the injector light.

The injector light comes on every now and then when driving. Up until recently it had only come on for maybe 5 seconds every other few times I would drive it and would then go off. It didnt affect the driving in any way.

Yesterday I took the marea for a little drive (had been sat for around a week( and the injector light started flickering on and off for a few seconds here and there. Again, it didnt affect the way the car drove atall. I took it home, turned it off and went to have another quick drive this morning.

Started the car, no light. Went for a quick drive and it started flickering again, only this time I noticed that the revs at idle were higher than usual. Probably around 1500rpm (rev counter doesnt work so couldnt confirm). carried on driving and eventually the flickering injector light stopped and the revs returned to normal.

Anyone any idea what I should suspect for this problem? Ive no idea where to look as it doesnt affect the way the car runs, except for the faster idle, which may or may not be related.

I dont really want to goto fiat and get the codes read as it costs alot of money so does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Btw, its a 2.0 20v.

lambda sensor, if adding a bottle of redex to a quarter tank of fuel makes the light go off for a couple of days then i'd defo say lambda, either that or head gasket has slight leak betwen 2 cylinders.
