Hello again, no sooner have I fixed the exhaust problem than the fuel injection light makes itself known!:bang: Anyone got any ideas what this could be. Only happens when you leave the car for an hour after a short journey (5 miles), she starts up good as gold but then when pulling away theres a definate loss of power and the injection light is on. It lasts for about 30 seconds then everything returns to normal. The car has 98000 on the clock, looking forward to a 100,000 miles. Suggestions welcome.

1997 Fiat Marea HLX 20v saloon.

If you do a search on these forums, you'll find quite a few topics on injection lights - bottom line is quite a few things can cause it. You'd really need to take it to a Fiat dealer to plug in & diagnose the cause. However.....my 20v has been doing exactly as you describe for 4 years & 50k & it's still going well! The problem has probably got worse; it used to come on sometimes when car had been left 30 minutes or so, but now it's every time, and it lacks power whilst the light is on. Still clears in a few seconds then runs fine though.

mines a victim aswell, only come on now and again for a few seconds at the start of a trip, usually goes once i boot a bit.

i've no idea what it is but suspecting Lambda so will let you know if i get around to changing it.

Hi, Thanks for that. From what I've read in other places it sounded like the injection light was automatically an expensive problem. I didn't see it until about 500 miles ago, driven the car over 60,000 miles without even knowing that there was an injection light! It's strange that I started looking at Fiatforum and suddenly problems develop, ;) The test will be when I go to the Black forest in July, looking forward to german autobahns.;) :D
